An inspiration that will go on my love to do list.  This is a beautiful example of the coordination of two beautiful prints together. A beautiful paisley and a dot fabric with lace and striped sheers were brought together for this quite beautiful silk and linen Weeks gown.  Click the link for more info on this dress that is in storage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.  http://www.metmuseum.org/collections/search-the-collections/157288?img=0

How To Stay "Sharp" In More Ways Than One

Very interesting piece on how on Edwardian self defense. This is an excerpt that I translated with a photo from a San Francisco newspaper that discussed about the long 13 inch hatpins called "stingers". These pins were an excellent weapon for self defense for women. If an aggressor approaches, just reach for that pin and let them have it! Men had their canes, the ladies their hat pins. My Mom sent one back to QVC home shopping that was designed by Diane von F├╝rstenberg years ago. It was a very long pin and she wasn't fond of the dangerous length. I wish she had of kept it, now. This is how to stay sharp in more than one way ladies! Courtesy of Recreaciones Hist├│ricas Club Fin de Siglo. Love their page!
